Oscar Grant Killing: Just Another excuse for Violence in a City of Violence

Although tragic the killing of Oscar Grant in Oakland, CA is just another excuse for lawlessness and violence in a city that’s already plagued with violence. Last year 124 murders were reported and Oakland currently has 5.4 times the national average for murders.
High crime brings on these types of mistakes and sometimes abuses. I will never condone this type of act by a police officer. He should be arrested and dealt with under the law but what I’d like to know is where are these same people who are taking to the street rioting when there are black on black murders, rape, violent assaults.
Why aren’t these people going after the people who are creating this state of anarchy…unless these are the same people creating the anarchy and lawlessness.
There is no way that I could become a cop but if there was I would take all this crime a little too personally and I would develop a f@#k you attitude myself. It isn’t right by any means but when you are living in the belly of the beast you need to find ways of self-preservation.
If I was a cop in Oakland I would shoot first and ask questions later. Is it right …no…but then again is 124 murders and 5 times the national average in rape alright also.
Oakland’s people, black, white and everyone else needs to address the real problem there…crime and not make excuses for more violence or it will become something similar to the Wild, Wild West.
I would like someone to explain to me how protests like the one shown in this video is going to help. One cop shot Oscar Grant. I could see if it was 6, 7 10 cops unloading their 9 mm into the unarmed man. What is changing laws and mobilizing going to do? There are already laws on the books that penalize cops and everyone else from “killing” other people.
This is just more evidence of people pulling for power an using this tragic occurrence as an excuse to try an be recognized as some leader. It didn’t work in Cincinnati and it sure as hell won’t work in Oakland. Maybe Oakland should throw a bunch of money at the activists to try a placate them and 7 years later shake their heads as the crime rate rises.
This doesn’t help anyone in Oakland except the criminals.
